En Primeur Wines – delivery in early 2027
Description
Characteristics and tasting notes for the Côtes du Rhône "Nobles Origines" 2024
Tasting notes
Colour
Beautifully intense, the deep red colour appears particularly vivid and saturated.
Nose
The bouquet is dominated by aromas of ripe black fruits such as blueberry, black cherry and raspberry. It then opens onto spicy notes reminiscent of black pepper, lilac and violet, complemented by subtle hints of smoke and garrigue.
Palate
Generous and full-bodied, this wine retains a lovely elegance. With velvety tannins and moderate acidity, it offers a pleasant texture that stretches into a persistent finish, marked by spices and black fruits.
Food and wine pairing
This red wine pairs perfectly with red meats such as roast beef, grilled steak or braised lamb. It also goes wonderfully with Mediterranean charcuterie platters, hard cheeses, as well as tomato-based stews or flavourful vegetarian dishes.
Service and storage
For optimal enjoyment, it is recommended to serve this wine at a temperature of 14.5°C and to decant it one hour before serving. It can be enjoyed while young, but will continue to evolve and can be drunk until around 2044.
The authentic expression of the Rhône Valley terroirs by an exceptional micro-négociant
The estate
Founded in 1996 by Michel Tardieu, the house of Tardieu Laurent is based in Lourmarin, Provence. This micro-négociant-éleveur quickly established itself as an essential reference in the Rhône Valley. Still led today by its current owner and founder, Michel Tardieu, supported by his children Bastien and Camille, the estate stands out for its rigorous selection of old vines and its respectful approach to terroir, incorporating organic and biodynamic practices. Without owning any vineyards of its own, the estate has mastered the art of ageing to bring out the very best in the grapes.
The vineyard
The grapes used for this Côtes du Rhône come from several renowned terroirs in the southern part of the region, including Lirac, Rasteau, Vacqueyras, Beaumes de Venise and Cairanne. The selected vines are notable for their advanced age, ensuring a deep expression of terroir and strong resistance to climatic challenges.
Winemaking and aging
For this 2024 vintage, about a third of the bunches are kept whole during vinification, with the rest being destemmed. The ageing process takes place over a total of eighteen months, beginning with ten months in one- and two-year-old barrels made from Tronçais and Allier oak, before continuing for eight months in large oak vats. The wine is finally bottled without fining or filtration.
Grape varieties
This wine is made from a blend of 65 to 70% Grenache, 20 to 25% Syrah and 10 to 15% Mourvèdre.
