Nose
Opulent and velvety, the bouquet highlights exotic fruits (passion fruit, lychee, mango) lifted by red fruits (grape, blackberry). Notes of undergrowth (dead leaves, porcini) and a hint of prune add depth. Spicy touches (cinnamon), a slight malty bitterness, along with floral (white flowers) and woody aromas enrich the whole, supported by a fine peaty smoke.

Palate
Rich, generously peaty attack, lively and zesty, with a peppery touch. The profile evolves toward honeyed and waxy nuances, gaining roundness. Toasted bread, rusk, malty accents (barley porridge) and savory fruit (mirabelle, damson) shape the palate. Vanilla, cocoa and delicate smoke complete the whole. The long finish brings malt back to the fore, animated by gentian, mint, eucalyptus and sage. The character remains both tropical (passion fruit) and candied (plum), gradually wrapped in salted butter caramel and bourbon vanilla.

Founded in 2008 by Ichiro Akuto in Saitama Prefecture, the Chichibu distillery embodies the excellence of artisanal Japanese whisky. Owned by Venture Whisky Ltd. and led by its founder, it stands out for its human-scale production and innovative approach to cask finishes. Located at the foot of the Okuchichibu mountains, Chichibu benefits from an exceptional terroir and pure waters from Mount Kobushi. The distillery is renowned for its sought-after limited editions.

A limited edition between Paris and Tokyo

Since 2018, the Chichibu distillery has crafted a blend dedicated to the French capital. This Paris 2025 edition celebrates the special bond between Paris and Tokyo, drawing a parallel between their respective neighborhoods. This sophisticated blend brings together whiskies of various ages (5 to 14 years) from multiple casks: four new French oak casks, one sherry cask in Spanish oak, three French oak casks that previously held red Bordeaux wine, one American oak hogshead, six bourbon barrels, and two bourbon barrels that contained intensely peated whisky. This variety of casks gives the whisky exceptional aromatic depth.

Presented in a gift box, this 70 cl single malt embodies the pop, vibrant visual identity of the Paris Edition series, inspired by Japanese kawaii aesthetics and postage stamps, with six distinct labels celebrating the cultural bridges between the two metropolises.
