A 21 Year Old Barbados Rum from Foursquare, Dry, Woody and Spicy, with a Vinous Touch
Foursquare, a Family-Run Distillery in Barbados
Foursquare is a Barbados rum distillery founded in 1995 by David Seale on the site of a former sugar factory in Saint Philip. Distillation began there in 1996. It belongs to R.L. Seale & Co., a family business founded in 1926 and now run by the fourth generation, with Richard Seale as master distiller. Its molasses-based rums are produced using a copper double retort pot still and a Coffey column still, then aged in a tropical climate. The House champions a Barbados rum with no added sugar or colouring. It was named Rum Producer of the Year by the IWSC in 2021, and awarded the Rum Producer Trophy by the IWSC in 2024.
A Single Blended Rum Born of the Collaboration Between Foursquare and Velier
Supernum Single Blended is a rum from the 2004 vintage, crafted from molasses. It combines rums distilled in a copper double retort pot still and in a Coffey column still. This blend of pot still and column still rums, all from a single distillery, defines the "single blended rum" category.
The blend brings together rums aged for nineteen years in ex-bourbon casks, with a portion that benefited from two additional years in casks that previously held Pineau des Charentes, making twenty-one years in total.
Born of the collaboration between Foursquare and the Italian house Velier, led by Luca Gargano, this rum was bottled at cask strength at 55% ABV in February 2026. The edition is limited to 2,800 bottles.
