    Description

Characteristics and Tasting Recommendations of the Vintage Port 2009 Taylor's

    Tasting

    Appearance
Intense black hue with subtle violet reflections.

    Nose
The nose exudes concentrated notes of dark forest fruits, raspberry and plum, enhanced by touches of citrus blossom, mint and lavender.

    Palate
Concentrated and ripe dark fruits dominate the palate, supported by thick, lively tannins. The massive structure expresses itself with elegance and finesse, offering a long and harmonious finish.

    Pairings and Tasting Occasions

This vintage pairs perfectly with nuts, blue-veined or strongly flavored cheeses, as well as dried fruits such as apricots and figs. It can also be enjoyed on its own in a large glass. Serve at a steady temperature up to 16 °C. Stand the bottle upright for a few hours before serving to allow natural sediment to settle, then pour slowly, leaving the deposit in the bottle.

A Douro vintage Porto of massive structure and remarkable elegance

Taylor's, a historic house from the Douro

Taylor's, founded in 1692 in the Duriense region of Portugal, remains one of the oldest Porto houses. This historic estate stands out for its exclusive specialization in the production of Porto wines, cultivating its vines on Grade A quintas such as Vargellas, Terra Feita and Junco. Currently owned by the Fladgate family, Taylor's preserves traditional Blend and aging methods in oak barrels, producing exceptional vintages recognized worldwide for their massive structure combining power and finesse.

The Vintage Port 2009, an exceptional vintage

The Vintage Port 2009 from Taylor's comes exclusively from the house’s three Grade A quintas: Quinta de Vargellas, Quinta de Terra Feita and Quinta do Junco. The year 2009 was marked by a short winter dormancy, an early bud break in early March in Pinhão, and above all a very dry ripening season with almost no rain from July to September. These particular climatic conditions produced very low yields but exceptional grape concentration, reaching phenolic maturity by early September. Bottled in 2011, this porto vintage has received excellent international ratings, notably 94 points from Wine Spectator and 95 points from Neal Martin, confirming its exceptional aging potential.
