    La RVF

A Grand Cru that lives up to its stature. Thanks to its balance, it respects the vintage’s ripe fruit, unlike the other wines in the series. It offers that extra flesh and depth expected at this level of cru, with firm tannins wrapped in the wine’s generous flesh, in keeping with the richness of the year. A wine to let mature patiently in the cellar for at least a good ten years.

    Description

Characteristics and tasting notes of the Echezeaux Grand Cru Dom. du Clos Frantin 2022 by Albert Bichot

    Tasting

On the palate, it seduces with a harmonious blend of power and finesse, offering a velvety texture and tannins of great distinction.

    An exceptional Burgundy Grand Cru

    The estate

While the history of the Bichot family dates back to 1214, it was finally in 1350 that they decided to settle in Burgundy. From then on, the doe, the family's coat of arms, would pass through the centuries and become the emblem of the House. The trading house was established in Monthélie in 1831, under the impetus of Bernard Bichot. It experienced spectacular growth during the 19th century, notably becoming the official supplier to the Court of Sweden. An independent, family-owned house, Albert Bichot is one of the great names that have shaped the winemaking landscape and the international reputation of Burgundy wines. Today, the 6th generation of the Albert Bichot family has been at the helm of the company since 1996, perpetuating the family heritage with just the right touch of modernity.

    The vineyard

The Albert Bichot house now oversees more than 100 hectares of vines, spread from the north to the south of Burgundy, and grouped into 6 prestigious estates: Domaine Long-Depaquit, located in Chablis, in the Yonne, Domaine du Clos-Frantin and Château Gris, both located in Nuits-Saint-Georges, and Domaine du Pavillon, in Pommard. Dedicated to Mercurey wines, Domaine Adélie was acquired by Albert Bichot in 2013. The estate bears this name as a tribute to Albert Bichot's daughter, born in 2003, thus perpetuating the family heritage from generation to generation. The magnificent vineyard of Domaine de Rochegrès, in the Moulin À Vent appellation, joined the family business in 2014.

    Winemaking and aging

This exceptional wine is the result of a manual harvest, followed by fermentation in temperature-controlled conical oak vats for 18 to 21 days, ensuring optimal expression of the fruit. Aged entirely in oak barrels for 16 to 18 months, it captivates with its refined structure and woody aromas, enhanced by a carefully chosen proportion of new barrels.

    Grape variety

    Pinot Noir (100%).
