A generous Burgundian 1er cru with impressive precision

    The estate

The Albert Bichot house, founded in 1831 in Monthélie by Bernard Bichot, embodies nearly two centuries of Burgundian winemaking craftsmanship. Under the leadership of Albéric Bichot, it manages a remarkable heritage of more than 100 hectares, spread across six Domaine, from Chablis to Beaujolais. With 13 hectares of Grands Crus and 26 hectares of Premiers Crus, including the prestigious Vosne-Romanée « Les Malconsorts », Albert Bichot is considered an essential reference. A pioneer of organic farming in its Côte-d'Or vineyards, the house combines family tradition with innovation.

    The vineyard

The Les Malconsorts Climat is among the jewels of the Vosne-Romanée appellation. This 1.76-hectare plot lies on limestone Rendzina soils and benefits from an exceptional geographic location: it borders the mythical Climat La Tâche and is less than 400 meters from Romanée-Conti as well as less than 600 meters from Richebourg. The vines, averaging 35 to 40 years old, thrive in a particularly sun-drenched area. The name « Malconsorts » is said to recall former disputes between co-owners, bearing witness to the rich history of this extraordinary terroir.

    Vinification and aging

The grapes for Vosne-Romanée 1er cru "Les Malconsorts" Domaine du Clos Frantin 2023 are hand-harvested and carefully sorted upon arrival at the cellar. Fermentation and maceration take place for 18 to 21 days in temperature-controlled wooden vats. The wine then ages for 16 to 17 months in oak barrels, 35 to 40% of which are new, providing structure and complexity while preserving the expression of the terroir.

    Grape variety

This wine is made exclusively from Pinot Noir, the emblematic grape variety of Bourgogne.
