A full-bodied Italian Red wine with a beautiful structure
The estate
The estate is located on the lands of the Comtes de Bracci in Tuscany. La Braccesca takes its name from its ancestors as well as their coat of arms: an armed arm wielding a sword. The Antinori family purchased the estate in 1990. The 237 hectares produce cuvées under the Nobile di Montepulciano and Cortona appellations, crafted with various grape varieties such as syrah, prugnolo gentile and sangiovese.
The wine
The cuvée Antinori - La Braccesca: Achelo is a Tuscan wine produced from the syrah grape variety. This wine is fruity, balanced with a beautiful acidity, typical of the Cortona appellation.
Winemaking and aging
The grapes were harvested around September 15th. Alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at 28°C for 10 days. The wine was then aged partly in barrels and partly in stainless steel tanks for 7 months before release.
