A magnificent estate in the Brunello di Montalcino appellation in Italy's Tuscany region, Col d'Orcia is one of the oldest wine estates in the village of Montalcino. Owned by the Franceschi family since 1890, Stefano Franceschi named the estate "Col d'Orcia" because of its location on a hill overlooking the River Orcia.

The Col d'Orcia estate was sold to the Cinzano family in 1973, when it consisted of just a few hectares of vines. Under the impetus of Count Alberto Marone Cinzano, the Col d'Orcia estate gradually expanded and today oversees 144 hectares of vines located on the great terroirs of Val d'Orcia. Today, Col d'Orcia is one of the largest estates in the Brunello appellation in Montalcino.
