The estate
An offshoot of the Picard family, whose winemaking history began in 1951, the Au Pied du Mont Chauve estate was officially established in the late 2000s. Located in the heart of Burgundy, this 35-hectare property is now run by Francine Picard, a third-generation representative. A true guardian of prestigious terroirs, she instils a philosophy centred on respect for the environment. The estate stands out for its rigorous biodynamic approach to winegrowing, intensified since 2019, aiming to express the authenticity and purity of its exceptional climats with minimal intervention.
The vineyard
This wine comes from the famous "Les Chaumées" climat, located in the commune of Chassagne-Montrachet. The estate cultivates a half-hectare plot of vines that are around 50 years old. Ideally facing south-east, this mid-slope terroir lies on clay-limestone soils rich in marl, offering optimal drainage. The vineyard is managed with a rigorous environmental approach, including natural grass cover and the use of biodynamic preparations to preserve soil vitality.
Grape variety
100% Pinot Noir.
