The estate
Daughter of one of the greatest winegrowing families of Burgundy, Francine Picard took over the estate historically run by her father in the late 1990s. Domaine Au Pied du Mont Chauve stretches across the villages of Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin, in the heart of the finest climats and terroirs of winegrowing Burgundy.
With a desire for synergy between the land and the wines, Francine Picard cultivates her plots in accordance with the principles of biodynamics and works with passion and the utmost care to produce wines that reflect the identity of their terroir.
Sourced from a 110-hectare vineyard farmed using "agro-ecology", the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir of Domaine Au Pied du Mont Chauve are recognised for their quality, precision and elegance.
Since May 2019, Antoine Lepetit de la Bigne, a specialist in biodynamic viticulture, has joined the team of this Burgundy estate as Technical Director.
The vineyard
This Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Macherelles cuvée comes from several small plots, half of which are planted with old vines of more than 65 years. The deep rooting and the type of soil on this premier cru at the foot of the slope ensure steady growth and ripening of the grapes, without excessive hydric stress.
Grape variety
This Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Macherelles 2025 from Domaine Au Pied du Mont Chauve is 100% Chardonnay.
