Description
Tasting tips for the Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 from Beaulieu Vineyard
Tasting
Nose
Dried rose, wild violet, red berry, crème caramel and subtle spicy notes from the oak aging combine harmoniously into a multi-layered, complex bouquet.
Palate
Ample and silky, the palate combines a beautiful fruit structure (blackcurrant, redcurrant, cherry, ripe raspberry) with a velvety texture and soft tannins. Persistent, the finish reveals notes of pomegranate, Kir Royal, fresh flowers and mint.
A powerful and refined great Californian wine
The estate
For over a century, Beaulieu Vineyard has been one of the most renowned estates in California. An iconic reference appreciated by wine lovers worldwide, Beaulieu Vineyard embodies the classic style of great Napa Valley red wines. Balancing tradition and modernity, the wines of Beaulieu Vineyard reveal with great precision the expression of their terroirs of origin.
The wine
An emblematic cuvée of the great Napa Valley wines, Georges de Latour Private Reserve was born in 1936, a year marked by a devastating frost. Although the harvest was small in quantity, its quality was outstanding, with small, highly concentrated berries. Since this vintage, the Beaulieu Vineyard Georges de Latour Private Reserve cuvée has established itself as an exceptional wine, unique in its concentration and structure.
The vintage
A warm, dry winter was tempered by cooler conditions in late March. A mild spring was followed by a summer with cool mornings and warmer afternoons. Despite small berries, the flavor concentration, acidity and balance are of great quality.
Blend
Cabernet Sauvignon (91%) and Petit Verdot (9%).
