    Wine Spectator

    Bruce Sanderson

Rich and bright, with a solid backbone of acidity and tannins forming a matrix supporting the cherry, currant, floral and mineral flavors. Still firm, but vibrant, showing plenty of grip on the long finish. Ideal for tomato-based sauces and grilled meats. Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino. Best from 2018 through 2027. 225 cases made, 40 cases imported.

    Decanter

This was a late harvest and most growers struggled to reach full ripeness. Many, including Graetz, green-harvested severely, and the resulting wines - from healthy grapes - were muscular and intense. This displays a dense and smoky nose, with cherry and blackberry aromas. It's rich, plump and super-concentrated with huge but ripe tannins. Its power and structure mean that it could still benefit from more bottle-age and it should age effortlessly. Long chocolatey finish.

Linear drive to this medium-bodied wine now, offering dark berries, mushrooms and some flowers and spices. Tight and racy. Drink or hold.

    André Kunz

(34% Sangiovese, 33% Canaiolo, 33% Colorino) Velvety, dense, full bouquet with blueberry, plum, thyme, cedar, redcurrant jelly and dried fruit. Dense, layered, powerful palate with dark fruit, plenty of fine tannin, a finely muscular, velvety structure, intense spicy aromatics, and a very long, firm finish with lots of lingering flavours. Can improve further. 18/20 drink through 2036

    Description

The freshness and aromatic richness of a Tuscan red wine

    The estate

Bibi Graetz's estate is located in the heart of Tuscany, Italy. It is the cradle of a rich and colourful history that goes back decades. At the helm is Bibi Graetz, an artist turned winemaker who has devoted himself to producing exceptional wines since the early 2000s. His vineyards, planted on the hills of Fiesole, overlook the majestic city of Florence and feed off its rich Tuscan terroir.

    The vineyard

Bibi Graetz's Colore 2010 is a Tuscan wine from a unique terroir located on the hills of Fiesole, which, with their steep slopes and altitude, offer ideal conditions for viticulture. The vineyards enjoy excellent sunshine, natural drainage and an ideal microclimate for ripening the grapes. The old vines bear witness to the estate's respect for history and tradition.

    Winemaking and ageing

The grapes are hand-picked and sorted before being vinified separately in open wooden vats. This IGT Toscana wine is aged for 24 months in new French oak barrels.
