    Description

Characteristics and tasting advice for Bruno Colin's Chassagne-Montrachet 1er cru "La Boudriotte" 2022

    Tasting

    Nose
The nose expresses itself elegantly through subtle aromas of white-fleshed fruits and spring flowers. A mineral touch enriches this delicately aromatic ensemble.

    Palate
Generous and silky, the palate seduces with its juicy and creamy texture. The balance between delicacy and power is perfectly mastered. The finish, persistent and marked by a mineral structure, reveals a vibrant tension that gives balance and depth to the wine.

    Food and wine pairings

This Chassagne-Montrachet pairs perfectly with noble crustaceans such as lobster or langoustines, fine fish in sauce (turbot, bass), or cream-based poultry dishes like a chicken supreme with morels.

    The property

Founded in 2004 after the split of the family estate Michel Colin-Deleger, the Bruno Colin estate spans 8.55 hectares in Burgundy, covering five prestigious communes of the Côte de Beaune, including Chassagne-Montrachet. Bruno Colin, alone at the head of the estate, favors a minimalist and respectful approach to the terroir, with manual viticultural practices and oak barrel vinification. His cuvées, rare and sought after, stand out for their purity and authentic expression of Burgundy terroirs.

    The vineyard

The Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "La Boudriotte" comes from a 0.24 hectare plot located in the Champs Jeandreau climate. This clay-limestone terroir benefits from a privileged location within the Chassagne-Montrachet appellation. The vines, planted in 1951 and 1977, are cultivated using organic methods with mechanical soil work and regular plowing that promote the authentic expression of the terroir.

    Vinification and aging

Manual harvest with sorting directly in the vineyards. After pressing, the wine is aged for 12 months in 350-liter oak barrels, 15 to 20% of which are new, allowing for gentle oxygenation without excessively marking the wine. The aging then continues for 4 to 6 months in tank before bottling.
