A great Douro wine combining richness and precision
The estate
Owned by the Sogrape group, one of the largest producers of Portuguese wines, Casa Ferreirinha embodies excellence. With over 250 years of history, Casa Ferreirinha owes its reputation to its exceptional Douro wine: Barca-Velha. Despite the changes that have taken place since the 1950s, its commitment to quality has remained intact for nearly seven decades.
Vinification and ageing
After destemming, the berries are gently pressed and then placed in stainless steel tanks for alcoholic fermentation. Maceration takes place under controlled temperature. This Duriense wine is aged in French oak barrels for 18 months.
Blend
Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinto Cão, Tinta Roriz and Sousão.
