Characteristics and Tasting Tips for Casamigos Mezcal

    Tasting

    Appearance

    Crystal-clear, bright hue.

    Nose

The nose reveals delicate aromas of wood smoke, toasted agave and fresh herbs. Notes of citrus and damp earth round out the aromatic profile.

    Palate

The palate unveils pronounced smoky notes alongside roasted agave and lime. Subtle spices and light mineral nuances add complexity. The texture is velvety. A long, bold finish with lingering smoke, notes of lemon and pepper, and an elegant earthy touch.

    Pairings and tasting occasions

This mezcal can be enjoyed neat, over ice or in inventive cocktails. Traditionally, it should be savored slowly: moisten your lips, dip them into the glass and let the first notes emerge before appreciating all its subtleties. The traditional accompaniment includes orange slices, chili powder and agave worm salt to enjoy after drinking the mezcal.

An intense, smoky artisanal mezcal from Oaxaca

Casamigos: Mexican excellence driven by a shared passion

Founded in 2013 in Mexico by George Clooney, Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman, Casamigos embodies excellence in the world of tequila and mezcal. Born of a shared passion among friends, this Jalisco estate stands out for its rigorous artisanal methods: traditional 72-hour cooking in brick ovens, extended 80-hour fermentation and proprietary yeast. Owned by the Diageo group since 2017, following a $700 million acquisition, Casamigos has established itself as the fastest-growing spirits brand in 2022. Using exclusively seven- to nine-year-old Weber blue agaves, it offers a diverse range that combines Mexican authenticity with refined flavor.

An artisanal mezcal crafted according to Oaxaca’s ancestral tradition

Casamigos Mezcal is produced exclusively from espadín agaves from Santiago Matatlán in Oaxaca. This artisanal joven mezcal is made using an ancestral Mexican traditional method more than 400 years old. The agaves are cooked in earthen pits using the traditional process, giving the spirit its signature intense, smoky profile. Bottled after a resting period of up to 2 months, this joven mezcal is 40% ABV and stands out for its velvety texture and its balance between fruity and smoky notes.
