Caves d'Esclans : Whispering Angel 2023

Floral on the nose, with sweet orange, bergamot, and small touches of red fruits: a fresh, delicate bouquet. On the palate, it’s more diluted, yet remains crisp, oscillating between fresh cherry, crushed raspberry, and lime.

A silky, seductive and saline Côtes de Provence rosé with aromas of small berries, red currants and salt. It’s medium-bodied, succulent, fresh and playful, with a caressing texture and a vivid, saline finish. Drink now.

Bottle weight 575 g. 59% Grenache, 21% Cinsault, 9% Syrah, 6% Rolle and 5% Carignan. Stainless-steel fermentation. 3–4 months’ ageing on lees in tank with regular bâtonnage. Winemaker Sacha Lichine. RS 0.2 g/l. 378 stores. Seems to have one extra gear than all the other rosés tasted. Deceptively weighty on the palate. Lots of strawberry-style fruit, touch of raspberry acidity. Long and complex.
