An Exceptional Coteaux Champenois by Bruno Paillard
The Estate
Founded in 1981 by Bruno Paillard at the age of 27, this family-run Champagne house draws its roots from a centuries-old winegrowing heritage dating back to 1704. Managing 32 hectares of vines, including 12 classified as Grand Cru on the prestigious terroirs of Oger, Verzenay, and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Bruno Paillard continues to personally oversee his estate. A pioneer in transparency with disgorgement dates indicated since 1983, the house pursues excellence through low dosage, the exclusive use of first-press juices, and a meticulous single-vineyard approach.
The Vineyard
"Oger Grand Cru" is a Coteaux Champenois made from century-old vines thriving on the mid-slopes of Oger, a Grand Cru terroir in the Côte des Blancs renowned for its chalky soils. Yields are deliberately limited, 30 to 50% below the average for the cru, ensuring optimal concentration.
Vinification and Aging
Gentle and slow pressing, with only the first-press juices selected. Fermentation takes place in small oak barrels, averaging five previous uses, thus preserving the purity of the fruit. The wine is aged for 9 months in barrel, followed by 2 years of bottle aging before release.
Grape Variety
100% Chardonnay.
