The NV Extra Brut Rosé Première Cuvée is laced with hints of grapefruit, citrus peel, rose petal and dried flowers. Like all Paillard Champagnes, the Rosé Première Cuvée is very bright, but it also has enough mid-palate pliancy to balance things out. The creamy, resonant finish is quite attractive. Disgorged: March 2023.

The NV Champagne Première Cuvée Extra Brut Rosé has a salmon/pink hue and jumps from the glass with a floral perfume in its aromas of salted grapefruit, rose water, strawberries, and green melon. Compact and medium-bodied, it offers a good deal of intensity and power through the palate, with a spritely mousse and a citrus-driven, mouthwatering finish. Description

The freshness of a lively and gourmet Extra Brut rosé champagne

    The estate

Founded in Reims in 1981, Bruno Paillard is one of the youngest Champagne houses. With a strict selection of terroirs, exclusive use of first pressings, blends crafted from an extensive collection of reserve wines, and an aging period twice as long as required by the appellation’s specifications, the range of Bruno Paillard champagnes reflects this constant pursuit of excellence and the desire to create a “very personal style.”

    The vineyard

The Bruno Paillard House oversees an exceptional vineyard patiently built up, stretching over 32 hectares of vines across 15 crus, including 12 classified as “Grands Crus.” The vineyard brings together the outstanding terroirs of Oger, Le Mesnil sur Oger, Cumières, Verzenay, as well as the exceptional Cru des Riceys located in the south of Champagne.

    The wine

True to the Bruno Paillard style, only the first pressing is used to express the full purity of the fruit in this multi-vintage champagne.

    Vinification

This multi-vintage rosé champagne is blended from white wine obtained by pressing and then separating the juice from the skins. The red wine is made from grapes from Verzenay, Bouzy, Mailly, or Les Riceys in varying proportions depending on the vintage, with prolonged maceration of the juice on the skins. Like all Bruno Paillard champagnes, the Rosé Première Cuvée Extra Brut is very lightly dosed at 6g/l. After disgorgement, the champagne rests for an additional 5 months before release. The disgorgement date is indicated on the back label.

    Aging

The Rosé champagne Première Cuvée Bruno Paillard is aged on lees for 3 years.

    Blend

Mainly composed of pinot noir, this cuvée is blended with a secret proportion of chardonnay from the northern Côte des Blancs.

Characteristics and tasting advice for Bruno Paillard’s Rosé Première Cuvée

    Tasting

    Appearance
The Rosé Première Cuvée Bruno Paillard displays a beautiful coppery rose gold hue. In its youth, raspberry highlights appear, while age brings out salmon reflections.

    Nose
Expressive, the aromatic bouquet reveals notes of tangy red berries before giving way to notes of Morello cherry, wild strawberry, and floral hints reminiscent of violet. Citrusy notes add great freshness to the whole.

    Palate
From the very first sip, the palate is captivated by a blend of liveliness and indulgence. Delicious notes of ripe red fruits coat the palate while retaining great elegance with no heaviness. With purity and precision, the finish lingers beautifully.

    Food & wine pairings

Decidedly gourmet, this great rosé champagne will pair perfectly with a meal. It can be served with white meats, poultry, as well as composed salads or cheeses.
