The estate

The family's winemaking story began in 1934, but it was in 1973 that the Domaine Alexandre Bonnet house was officially founded. Located in Les Riceys, in the Côte des Bar in southern Champagne, the estate covers 47 hectares. The Lanson-BCC group has owned it since 1998, while Arnaud Fabre has managed the estate since 2019. This grower-producer stands out for its complete control over production and its environmental commitment. It is renowned for showcasing local terroirs through exceptional single-plot cuvées and for preserving Champagne's historic grape varieties.

The vineyard

The cuvée comes from a single plot located in the village of Les Riceys, in Champagne. This distinctive terroir is characterised by soils of marl and Kimmeridgian limestone. The estate practises sustainable viticulture there, certified High Environmental Value (HVE) and Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne (VDC). The vines are cultivated without any herbicides or insecticides to encourage biodiversity, and the grapes are harvested by hand to preserve the integrity of the bunches.

Vinification and ageing

The making of this 2020 vintage is based on a rigorous single-plot approach. After bottling, the wine undergoes a long period of ageing sur lattes lasting 36 months. It is then disgorged without any addition of liqueur d'expédition, fully embracing its zero-dosage style to let the purity of its terroir shine through.

Grape varieties

This rare and historic blend brings together the region's seven traditional varieties: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Meunier, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Arbane and Petit Meslier. Arbane and Petit Meslier, forgotten native grape varieties of Champagne, lend this cuvée a distinctive freshness and a unique aromatic complexity, bearing witness to the region's rich winemaking heritage.
