    Wine Enthusiast

    R.V.

The palest of rosés, this crisp, bright and fruity wine is full of tight acidity, freshly picked raspberries and steely acidity. It could age a few more years to bring out a toastier character. The specially designed bottle has a hummingbird etched on the inside and gold on the outside.

    Description

A seductive rosé champagne with liveliness and depth

    The estate

The Perrier-Jouët Champagne House was founded in 1811 by Pierre Perrier and his wife Adèle Jouët. Sourced from exceptional Champagne terroirs (Aÿ, Mailly-Champagne, Avize, and Cramant), the house’s cuvées are renowned for their distinctive style combining aromatic richness, refinement, and subtlety. From 1861, Perrier-Jouët became the official champagne of Queen Victoria, and later of the French Imperial Court.

Owned since 1959 by the Champagne company GH Mumm, the uniqueness of the Perrier-Jouët House is especially reflected in the iconic bottle of its prestige cuvée “Belle Epoque,” created in 1969 by Émile Gallé.

    The wine

Produced in limited quantities and only in exceptional vintages, Perrier-Jouët’s Belle Époque Rosé is crafted from a blend of Champagne’s emblematic terroirs (Cramant, Avize, Aÿ, Mailly, and Dizy). The bottle of Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Rosé is adorned with the Japanese white anemone, a motif created for the house in 1902 by Émile Gallé, master of Art Nouveau.

    Blend

Belle Époque Rosé 2005 from Perrier-Jouët is made from a blend of chardonnay, pinot noir, and pinot meunier.
