    Description

The aromatic richness and elegance of a Côte des Blancs Chardonnay

    The estate
Located for six generations in Mesnil-sur-Oger, south of Epernay, the Pierre Péters estate has been exclusively dedicated to producing Champagne Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru wines since 1919.

This 19-hectare vineyard, situated solely on the Côte des Blancs, owes its uniqueness to its chalky hillside terroir.

The estate is renowned for the outstanding quality of its champagnes, vinified in small vats and then aged on fine lees to authentically express the richness of the Champagne terroir and to preserve the varietal identity of the king grape, Chardonnay.

    The wine
Produced only in the best years, this Cuvée Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru by Pierre Péters is crafted from a selection of four plots from the most iconic crus of the Côte des Blancs (Le Mesnil, Avize, Cramant, Oger). About 20% of the best vats from the perpetual reserve complete the blend.

    Winemaking and aging
This Extra Brut is aged for at least 36 months on its lees before disgorgement. Its dosage is 2 g/liter.

    Grape variety
    100% Chardonnay.

Characteristics and tasting advice for the Cuvée Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru by Pierre Péters

    Tasting

    Appearance
Crystal-clear, the wine displays a beautiful pale gold color with subtle green highlights typical of the grape variety.
Consistent, the effervescence reveals a persistent stream of bubbles.

    Nose
The initial nose opens with delicious notes of white flowers, while aeration develops a complexity blending aromas of white bread, toasted almonds, sea spray, and oyster shells.

    Palate
Taut and remarkably pure, the attack charms with its finesse, mingling fragrances of white flowers and fresh hazelnut. During tasting, more lemony and toasted notes are revealed. The persistent finish unveils the salinity and iodine notes typical of this chalky terroir.
