Characteristics and tasting advice for La Grande Dame 2018 by Simon Porte Jacquemus

Lively and brilliant, the color reveals a beautiful golden hue.
Nose
Intense citrus aromas such as yellow lemon, green lemon and yuzu mingle with white fruit notes, enhanced by spring floral nuances.
Palate
The palate seduces with its subtle and silky texture.
Food & wine pairings
This cuvée pairs with a pure and delicate cuisine: gentle cooking, espumas, chiffonnades, iodized products and touches of freshness such as fresh cheeses, shoots, white flowers or citrus fruits. Condiments combining land and sea, or a celery and spelt risotto with crunchy spelt enhanced by a poularde broth, compose pairings that are both subtle and refined.

The finesse and richness of a great vintage Champagne in a limited edition
The estate
Emblematic reference among the great names of Champagne, the Maison Veuve Clicquot has built its reputation since its foundation in 1772 thanks to a woman: Madame Clicquot. Within a few years, at the end of the 18th century, Madame Clicquot became “La grande dame de la Champagne” and was the originator of the riddling table, with the motto “only one quality, the very first”. The Maison de Champagne Veuve Clicquot, recognized worldwide, stands out for its immediately identifiable bottles, adorned with a yellow label inspired by the sunrise, and offers cuvées with a winey style.
The vineyard
With 390 hectares of land, the Maison Veuve Clicquot owns one of the largest vineyards in the Champagne region. This vineyard also stands out for its exceptional quality, being spread across 12 of the 17 Grands Crus and 20 of the 44 Premiers Crus of Champagne.
The wine
Veuve Clicquot called on Simon Porte Jacquemus, a French designer, to create a special edition of La Grande Dame 2018, the Maison’s prestige cuvée referencing the history of Madame Clicquot.
Winemaking and ageing
This Champagne benefits from extended ageing in the Maison’s century-old cellars.
