Vinum
Playful yet profound; floral notes, ripe cherries, plums, fruit tea. Fresh palate, lively, without heaviness, it virtually dances, with breed, balance, and precision. Very long, spicy and mineral finish. A success.

Shows gently mulled plum and blackberry fruit flavors that have good flesh and energy, while savory and sous-bois accents peek in throughout. Maintains enough juiciness through the finish too, letting the fruit play out in an unencumbered manner. Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now through 2035. 4,000 cases made.

This has a gorgeous herbal-fruity nose, scented, fresh and lively with raspberry leaf. Impactful on the palate straight away—the fine-grained tannins hit the mouth and expand slowly alongside licorice spice and dark berry fruit with violet aromas. It’s direct and linear at the moment, taut, driven in a single line. You feel it’s coiled, ready to spring, with strawberry fruit and Cabernet aspects coming through. The texture is delicate; the mouthfeel is light and bouncy while the flavors slowly rise vertically. Touches of sweetness, bitterness and minerality appear, adding interest from start to finish. I love the clarity you get. Impactful and full of complexity. It will be lovely to taste this in bottle. 5% more Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon than usual as some Merlot was lost to frost and mildew. A production of 98% grand vin.

Extremely perfumed with enticing cabernet franc aromas of black cherries and lavender. Some sandalwood. Medium-bodied with very fine tannins that are polished and beautiful, this wine has lovely length and freshness. 45% cabernet franc, 35% merlot and 20% cabernet sauvignon. Enjoyable now, but better in two or three years.

35% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Franc, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Organic certified by FR-BIO-10. Deep crimson. Fragrant with dark fruit, a much higher percentage of Cab Franc in this vintage giving a fine leafy scent to the black fruit. Fine-boned, finely textured. An elegant youth. (JH)

The 2021 Canon La Gaffelière has a satisfying bouquet with much more fruit than Clos de l'Oratoire, displaying scents of red plum, wild strawberry, violet, and white flower. Its aromatics are not intense, but it has commendable presence. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, finely balanced though relatively light compared to fellow vintages. It reveals a dash of cracked black pepper toward the finish. Drink over the next 12 to 15 years.

Dark ruby red fading to purple at the rim. Fine herbal savouriness, black cherries, delicate tobacco, nuances of blackberries. Medium complexity, red cherries, slender and lively, salty minerality, lemony touch on the finish, red berry aftertaste; an animated food companion.

The sweetness that characterizes the entire Neipperg range is particularly delicate here, with notes of stewed raspberry and rose, complemented by a welcome vegetal sapidity. Fragrant and feminine on the palate, the wine displays a majestic florality. Pure bliss.

What verve, elegance, and freshness in this wine! Subtle and lively, it is well-structured, precise, and carried by tannins that are certainly tight, but above all precise. Paradoxically, the wine gains in dimension over the minutes, ultimately highlighting its elegance and even a touch of roundness! A truly beautiful wine with fruity and floral nuances. I believe it has more than enough to spend many years in the cellar, though the challenge is resisting it. To be tested regularly—provided you have enough 😉

Elegant, refined, supple and fresh, you first notice its bouquet filled with flowers, dark cherries, spearmint, flowers, red fruits and spices. The palate already offers its array of sweet red berries, with chalky accents. All the oak has completely integrated, leaving you with vestiges of supple-textured red fruits, spices, salt, and crushed stones. Using 45% Cabernet Franc, 35% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, it is interesting to note this blend represents the highest portion of Cabernet used in the history of the estate. Drink from 2025–2050.
