Wafting from the glass with a fresh, perfumed bouquet of spices, white flowers, pear, peach and angelica, the 2024 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc possesses a medium- to full-bodied, dense and sappy palate framed by a gastronomic bitterness, concluding with a long, saline and lively finish. More tensile than in the past, this is a strikingly pure white wine.

So beautifully generous on the palate, so rich but so fresh, with great salinity – really mouthwatering. That's what makes this vintage so special: generosity and freshness plus acidity and salinity makes for great vibrancy and impact. Hugely impressive.

Based largely on Roussanne with smaller amounts of Grenache Blanc, Clairette, and Bourboulenc, the 2024 Châteauneuf Du Pape Blanc shows vibrant white peach, honeyed melon, flowers, spice, and crushed stone. It's medium to full-bodied, with a fresh, focused mouthfeel, notable purity, integrated acidity, and a great finish. This beauty will drink nicely over the coming 30 years if well stored. Drink 2025-2054.

Pineapples, peaches, orange citrus, and juicy pears, which pop in the nose, and on the palate with little effort. Vibrant, energetic, clean, and fresh, the wine can be enjoyed on release. The wine is produced from 80% Roussanne and other varietals. Drink from 2026-2033.

    Description

The freshness and balance of a white wine from the Rhône Valley

    The estate

Established in the 16th century, Château de Beaucastel was taken over in the early 20th century by Pierre Tramier. His son-in-law, Pierre Perrin, gave the estate fresh momentum, while Jacques Perrin greatly expanded its international reputation. Today, Jacques Perrin’s sons and grandsons continue this family estate’s pursuit of excellence, making it one of the most emblematic producers of wines from the Rhône Valley.

    The vineyard

Château de Beaucastel farms a single 110-hectare vineyard located in the northern part of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. Certified organic since the 1960s, the vines are rooted in soils with surface galets roulés over layers of clay, sand, and limestone. Seven hectares are devoted to white wines.

    Winemaking and aging

Hand harvesting, sorting of bunches, picking into small crates, pneumatic pressing, settling, fermentation in barrels and tanks. Aging in barrels and tanks.

    Blend

This 2024 Château de Beaucastel is a blend of Roussanne, Grenache Blanc, Picardan, Clairette, and Bourboulenc.
