    Description

An elegant and airy Puligny-Montrachet white wine

    The estate

The Château de Marsannay, located in the heart of the Côte-de-Nuits appellation, covers an area of 34 hectares. Varying between 250 and 280 metres in altitude from the south of Dijon to the commune of Vosne-Romanée, the terroir of the estate expresses through its mosaic of plots all the nuances and distinctive features of these great Burgundy terrains.

    The vineyard

As the first destination on the Burgundy Grand Crus route, the Château de Marsannay oversees a 40-hectare vineyard in the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, two prestigious Burgundy appellations.

    The wine

The 2022 "Cuvée Maizière" from Château de Marsannay is a Puligny-Montrachet Village wine made from a 57-acre vineyard. Facing east at the bottom of the hillside, the vines are planted on brown clay-limestone soil.

    Winemaking and ageing

The grapes, harvested by hand, were meticulously sorted on a table. Following pneumatic pressing of the whole bunches and a static settling of about twelve hours without the use of enzymes, the musts underwent alcoholic fermentation at a low temperature. The wine was aged for 17 months in barrels (30% new), with an additional month of ageing in the mass.

    Blend

    Chardonnay (100%).
