    Tasting

    Appearance
The robe reveals a beautiful white colour with golden and greenish highlights.

    Nose
The nose unveils an aromatic bouquet centred on citrus fruits, hazelnut and brioche.

    Palate
Indulgent and round, the palate delivers a fruit-forward profile that extends towards a finish marked by a lovely saline freshness, highly representative of its appellation.

    Food and wine pairings

This white wine pairs beautifully with shellfish such as lobster or grilled langoustine, fish in creamy sauces, roast poultry with butter and herbs, or even foie gras. As for cheeses, it is an ideal match for goat's cheese, Brie de Meaux or Reblochon.

    Serving and cellaring

For an optimal tasting experience, it is recommended to serve this Puligny-Montrachet Village "Cuvée Maizière" 2023 at a temperature between 11 and 13°C. This wine can be enjoyed now, but it will continue to evolve favourably and can be drunk until around 2033.

The precision and freshness of a white wine from Puligny-Montrachet

    The estate

Founded in 1990 by the Boisseaux family, Château de Marsannay is located in Marsannay-la-Côte, on the Route des Grands Crus. This 40-hectare estate, the true northern gateway to the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy, is now owned by Olivier Halley, who acquired it in 2012. Under the direction of Sylvain Pabion, the property stands out for its commitment to agroecology and obtained organic certification in 2022. The estate also manages historic plots belonging to the Hospices de Dijon.

    The vineyard

The cuvée comes from a small 0.57-hectare plot located within the Puligny-Montrachet appellation, managed on behalf of the Hospices de Dijon. The vines are planted at the foot of the slope and benefit from an easterly exposure. They thrive on brown clay-limestone soils. The estate applies rigorous agroecological principles, promoting biodiversity, horse ploughing to prevent soil compaction, and pruning that respects the flow of sap.

    The vintage

The 2023 season began with an early budburst in mid-April, followed by a heterogeneous flowering marked by coulure and millerandage due to temperature fluctuations. The summer was characterised by alternating intense heatwaves and rainy spells. Despite this unstable weather, the grapes developed thick skins and were harvested in perfect sanitary condition between the end of August and the beginning of September.

    Winemaking and aging

After manual harvesting into small crates and meticulous sorting, the vinification of the Puligny-Montrachet Village "Cuvée Maizière" 2023 follows a minimal-intervention approach. Fermentation takes place over two to three weeks. After a period of settling, the wine is transferred into French oak barrels to undergo malolactic fermentation and ageing. The underground cellars provide ideal conditions with a constant temperature of fifteen degrees.

    Grape variety

    100% Chardonnay.
