Description
Characteristics and Tasting Tips for the Tinus Marsanne Roussanne 2024 from Les Tourettes
Tasting notes
Appearance
Clear and brilliant, the colour reveals superb golden highlights.
Nose
Expressive and highly intense, the bouquet first unveils aromas of white-fleshed fruit, such as peach and pear, accentuated by the freshness of mandarin zest. With aeration, delicate floral notes of acacia and hawthorn intertwine with more complex nuances of toast, marzipan and honey, along with a subtle hint of mint.
Palate
The attack reveals a generous, vinous texture, marked by the indulgent character of sweet almond. This richness is perfectly balanced by a lovely tension and a minerality reminiscent of crystal-clear spring water. The palate offers a striking harmony between warm notes of toasted sesame and fresher touches of aniseed. The finish is long and persistent, enhanced by beautiful bitter notes.
Food and wine pairings
Ideal as an aperitif, this wine also pairs very well with seafood and shellfish, such as lobster, grilled squid or salmon tartare with ginger. It is equally harmonious with richer dishes such as poultry stuffed with morel mushrooms, endives with ham or grilled asparagus.
Serving and cellaring
To fully appreciate this 2024 vintage, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature between 8 and 12°C, after letting it breathe in the bottle for about an hour. With excellent potential, this wine can be enjoyed from 2025 and will continue to evolve until around 2032.
The Elegance and Minerality of a White Wine from France by Guffens-Heynen
The estate
Acquired in 1997 by Maine and Jean-Marie Guffens-Heynen, Les Tourettes is an estate of approximately 15 hectares. Now run by Marie Guffens-Heynen, the estate stands out for its unconventional approach to viticulture and its determination to produce exceptional wines from high-altitude terroirs. The estate has become a true experimental laboratory for Jean-Marie Guffens, who skilfully applies his principles of controlled yields to reveal the authenticity of this southern terroir.
The vineyard
This Vin de France comes from plots located on a plateau at an altitude of around 400 metres, near Apt. This distinctive, limestone-rich terroir benefits from a cool microclimate that allows the grapes to ripen slowly and preserves their natural acidity. The vineyard is managed according to a minimalist philosophy known as "non-culture", with permanent grass cover and an annual shallow ploughing, naturally limiting the vigour of the vines to concentrate the aromas. The harvest is strictly by hand and carried out in several successive passes.
Vinification and ageing
The winemaking process begins with an extremely gentle pressing using a modified press, with the free-run juices carefully separated. Fermentation takes place exclusively with indigenous yeasts in tulip-shaped concrete tanks, under strict temperature control. The wine then benefits from extended ageing on the full lees for several months in these same tanks, enhancing its aromatic complexity and textural richness while protecting it from oxidation.
