Delicious and juicy in style, full-bodied, straightforward, cheerful.

Plump and forward, this delivers peach, nectarine and candied lemon peel notes gilded with lots of honeysuckle and heather. A flash of bitter almond helps streamline everything through the racy finish. Best from 2017 through 2027. 2,208 cases made.

    Decanter

Elegant apple and apricot nose, with some honey and oak in the background. The palate is waxy, with well-integrated oak and some floral notes. It has a persistent finish despite modest acidity.

Grapefruit, honeycomb, spice and plenty of demerara sugar sweetness. If anything, that sweetness tips just into excess on the finish – but this would hardly be noticed if consumed with food. (RH)

The 2013 Doisy-Daëne showed better than the bottle poured at the vertical two years earlier. This has a fresh and perfumed nose with pressed white flower, lemon verbena and light minerally scents — a touch of white linen and less of the honeysuckle. The palate is well balanced with superb weight and tension, not the most complex Barsac, yet focused with a fresh, saline finish that counters the botrytised fruit. Very fine.

Very fine purity and precision on the nose—ripe stone fruit, apricot, saffron, mineral and stylish oak. The palate has good weight, integrated sweetness and a very long, fresh finish, truly promising.

Medium-deep yellow, fairly intense, with a bright rim. The expansive bouquet, scented with ripe yellow fruits, reveals a delicate hint of vanilla and subtly yeasty contours, yet remains very elegant on the nose. On the palate, sublime fullness, a long flow, and already perfect harmony. A beautiful Barsac with irresistible drinkability. Once mature, you’ll be happy to go for a second glass.

Mineral, powerful, fresh and dense bouquet, citrus, dried apricots, chalk, poached pears, white flowers. Dense, creamy, finely opulent palate with fresh fruit, powerful yet refined sweetness, very well-integrated acidity, complex and intense aromatics, long, fresh finish with many lingering flavors. Can improve further. 18/20 drink - 2050

    The Wine Independent

    Lisa Perrotti-Brown

Pale to medium straw-gold in color, the 2013 Doisy Daene skips out with bright, cheery lemon marmalade, lime cordial, and grapefruit oil scents with hints of honeysuckle and candied ginger. The palate is youthful and refreshing, with plenty of tangy citrus fruits and a lifted finish.

    Bettane+Desseauve

A benchmark of its kind, with apricot and more thiol-driven Sauvignon notes. The sweetness is almost forgotten. You could even imagine it with a savory dish, like roasted stuffed poultry or even lobster steamed à la Barsac.

    La RVF

The liveliness of this 2013 emerges from the very first nose, with clean, pure fruit. While the Barsac minerality is clearly present, the liqueur remains generous for the vintage. The whole is still just a touch smooth.

    Le Figaro Vin

The cru belongs to the famous Professor Dubourdieu, the pope of white and sweet wines, who pampers it. With a straw-colored robe, the nose is discreet, but the palate is elegant, long and classy, with a lovely lemony finish and a hint of oak. It will evolve remarkably in bottle.

Golden color. Nose with pure fruit. Note of reduction. Let it breathe. Fruity palate with a refined touch, with a slight sweet note on the finish. Normal length.

92–94. Barrel Sample. This is a complex wine that pops with acidity, followed by an intense botrytis character and a firm, dry structure. It's as much about richness as sweetness. The finish is delicious, with ample acidity.
