The 2024 Saint-Véran was the final blend on the lees. It has a light, chalky bouquet with green apple scents emerging with time. The palate is fresh and crisp on the entry, straightforward and quite steely (there is no wood contact) towards the finish.

    Description

Characteristics and tasting notes of the Saint-Véran "Village" 2024 by Château Fuissé

    Tasting

    Appearance

Clear and radiant, this wine reveals a delicate pale yellow hue, enhanced by subtle greenish highlights.

    Nose

The bouquet opens gently with a chalky framework, gradually releasing refreshing aromas of green apple as it breathes.

    Palate

From the first sip, the palate proves lively and remarkably fresh. It unfolds a texture that is both fleshy and refined, carried by a beautiful minerality. Citrus flavours intertwine with notes of yellow and green apples, leading to a clean and particularly dynamic finish.

    Food and wine pairings

This white wine pairs wonderfully with Burgundian specialities such as escargots or jambon persillé. It also brilliantly accompanies seafood, sushi, as well as meaty fish and mushroom risottos. When it comes to cheese, it enhances a fresh goat's cheese, a Comté or a Beaufort.

    Serving and cellaring

For an optimal tasting experience, it is recommended to serve this Saint-Véran "Village" 2024 at a temperature between 10 and 12°C. It can be enjoyed from 2026 and will continue to evolve favourably until around 2031.

The precision and elegance of a great white Burgundy signed by Château Fuissé

    The estate

Acquired in 1862 by Claude Bulland, Château Fuissé is a true institution located in the heart of the Mâconnais, in the south of Burgundy. For more than five generations, the Vincent family has watched over this historic estate, whose original château dates back to the 15th century. Today, Antoine Vincent runs the property with passion, perpetuating a family expertise focused on respect for the terroirs. Thanks to a considered viticultural approach and an in-depth knowledge of its many plots, the estate stands out as an essential benchmark in the region.

    The vineyard

The grapes for this Saint-Véran cuvée come from plots enjoying a beautiful full-south exposure. The vines flourish on clay-limestone soils. The estate applies the principles of sustainable viticulture, minimising artificial treatments in favour of natural preparations in order to preserve the biodiversity and identity of this singular terroir.

    Winemaking and aging

The grapes for the Saint-Véran "Village" 2024 are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness. After a static rest of about twelve hours to remove coarse elements, a very gentle and gradual pneumatic pressing is carried out. Winemaking then follows the Burgundian tradition, with fermentation and aging in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, accompanied by a partial or total malolactic fermentation.

    Grape variety

This wine is made exclusively from Chardonnay (100%).
