    Vinum

Expressive and fresh, with clear cherry fruit, blackcurrant and fine toasted notes; a soft opening, then it tightens up, with firm tannins, ripe fruit and noticeable oak here as well; slightly drying on the finish. It still needs to tame its oaky make-up with ageing.

    Decanter

Slightly tight on the nose still, meditative and needs some time in the glass to open up. The palate shows the typical power and austerity of a classic Saint-Estephe with grippy but fine tannins, some savoury notes and a hint of oak patina. Very traditional overall, with the alcohol that is slightly warming on the finish. The solid structure promises good ageing potential. No Petit Verdot in the blend this year.

Round, supple, lush, and creamy, the wine packs in layers of juicy, ripe, red, with black fruits, licorice, mocha, and espresso. Medium-bodied, soft, and polished, this will be just great with a year or two of bottle age. Drink from 2028-2040. 92-94 Pts

A swirl of cinnamon and white pepper spice, sandalwood and incense, great quality, again there is the austerity of the vintage but well handled with firm black fruits, a true En Primeur sample as is often the case with this estate - where you feel it is not always the easiest to taste right now, but that it is brimming with promise for the future. Huge concentration. Harvest September 11 to 23, 3.53ph.

    Yves Beck

The freshness and subtlety of the bouquet hint at a thoroughly enjoyable wine. It reveals notes of blueberries and blackcurrant, along with a touch of eucalyptus and fresh wood. On the palate, the wine gradually gains breadth and vigour. Its creamy tannins deliver a serene power, supported by a structuring, refreshing acidity. The depth of Haut-Marbuzet unfolds across the palate, reaching full amplitude on the finish. A hint of austerity on the finish brings freshness and extends the length. A great success, ready for the future!

Deep, intense red color with bright highlights. Moderately aromatic, fruity nose. Delicate on entry, very flavorful through the mid-palate, with depth of aroma and a somewhat marked oaky presence at this stage; the wine finishes long and sappy, with a slight touch of austerity that should integrate with aging. Blend: 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc. Alcohol: 13.5%. Yield: 40 hl/ha.

    Description

An ample and aromatic Saint-Estèphe wine

    The estate

Established in the 18th century, Château Haut-Marbuzet truly took off in 1952 thanks to the commitment of Hervé Duboscq. Nestled in Saint-Estèphe, on the Left Bank of Bordeaux, the estate now covers 70 hectares. Under the guidance of Henri Duboscq and his sons, the château stands out for a planting dominated by Merlot as well as ageing in new barrels, lending its wines a remarkable roundness and generosity.

    The vineyard

The vines of Château Haut-Marbuzet reach their full potential on the emblematic terroirs of Saint-Estèphe, where gravel and clay soils shape the structure and identity of the wines. This exceptional land, combined with the close presence of the Gironde estuary, brings together the optimal conditions to reveal all the richness of the Bordeaux grape varieties.

    Blend

Château Haut-Marbuzet 2025 is made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
