The authentic expression of a great Margaux terroir
The estate
Founded in the 13th century, Château La Tour de Mons is rooted in the history of the Médoc, with origins tracing back to the seigneury of Soussans in 1098. Today led by the Perrodo family, with Nathalie Perrodo at its head, the estate benefits from a dynamic that combines respect for tradition with a quest for excellence. Its preserved terroir and rich heritage make it an essential reference for enthusiasts of the great wines of the Bordeaux region.
The vineyard
Located in the commune of Soussans, this Margaux vineyard spans 58 hectares, including 41.5 hectares in production. The vines, with an average age of 32 years, thrive on a terroir composed of Garonne gravels and clay-limestone subsoils. This estate, which has the distinction of being a preserved walled enclosure, displays a planting density of 8,500 vines per hectare.
The vintage
The year was marked by an early growing cycle, beginning with bud break in late March and continuing with even flowering in mid-May. August was hit by intense heatwaves, with temperatures exceeding 35°C for several days. Light rainfall in September then provided ideal conditions to perfect the ripening before an early harvest.
Vinification and ageing
The harvest of Château La Tour de Mons 2025 was carried out entirely by hand between the end of August and the end of September, with a controlled yield of 32 hectolitres per hectare. Fermentations took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats of varying capacities. The wine then undergoes ageing including 10% new French oak barrels, with bottling scheduled for June 2027. Alcohol content: 12.5% vol.
Grape varieties
54% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot, 4% Cabernet Franc.
