    Decanter

Tropical fruit, creamy lemon, citrus with mango, sweet pineapple and cooling white stone fruit too. Great liveliness here, focused and fresh, succulent and juicy with some enjoyable bitter elements. Delicious.

White flowers, white peach, and green apples show easily on the nose. On the palate, the wine is juicy, fresh, and fruity, with a zesty lemon-peel character and a touch of honey on the back end of the finish. This will be easy to enjoy on release. The wine blends 60% Sauvignon Blanc with 40% Semillon. 12.5% ABV. Drink from 2027–2035. 93–93 pts

Fresh and delicate, the nose opens with aromas of lemon blossom, sweet citrus and crisp pear. The palate is harmonious and flavorful. Its pleasant acidity evokes Meyer lemon and bergamot, with a touch of lime on the finish.

A fresh Pessac-Léognan white wine with a rare persistence

    The property

The Château Latour-Martillac owes its name to a tower standing in the castle's courtyard. This tower is the remnant of a 12th-century fort used to control the road from Bordeaux to Toulouse. Owned by the Kressmann family since 1871, Château Latour-Martillac was granted the title of Cru Classé des Graves for both red and white in 1953. Tristan and Loïc Kressmann continue today with passion and ambition the family tradition and the art of making great red and white wines from Graves.

    The vineyard

A reference among the wines of Pessac-Léognan, Château Latour-Martillac oversees a 54-hectare vineyard, 45 of which are dedicated to red wine and 9 to white. The property benefits from an exceptional location within the appellation. The Martillac plateau is composed of a mosaic of quaternary gravels, made up of flint, quartz, lydian and jasper. These soils are the preferred terroir of cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot. The other main terroir of the property is located near the Garonne where clay-limestone and gravelly soils are found on the surface. This is where the merlot and the property's white grape varieties, sauvignon blanc and sémillon, are planted.

    The vintage

The mild and very rainy winter of 2024 (912 mm) gave way to a similarly wet spring, although mildew was controlled. Bud break began in mid-March, followed by rapid growth in April, then slowed in May. Late flowering (May 29 - June 10) preceded a cool summer, conducive to slow and homogeneous maturation. The harvest, interspersed with rains, took place from September 4 to October 4.

    Vinification and aging

Aging in new barrels (including 20% new).

    Blend

    Sauvignon blanc (60%)
    Sémillon (40%).
