Description
The complexity and silkiness of a Pomerol
The estate
Founded in 1920 by a passionate couple, Château Le Bon Pasteur was taken over in 1978 by the renowned oenologist Michel Rolland and his brother, who thus succeeded their father at the helm of this grand cru from Bordeaux.
The vineyard
The estate’s 6.6 hectares of vines, located in the heart of the Pomerol appellation, are spread over 23 parcels of terroir typical of the region and produce wines of fine quality. The vineyard, with an average age of 40 years, is managed with sustainable farming practices, earning the estate the Haute Valeur Environnementale certification.
The vintage
While the late April 2017 frost episodes affected the vineyard at Château Le Bon Pasteur, the best parcels were spared. The subsequent weather conditions allowed for optimal ripening of the fruit, resulting in an ideal sugar-acidity balance and great aromatic freshness.
