Characteristics and tasting advice for Rosé de Léoube 2025

    Tasting

    Appearance

Beautifully bright, this wine reveals a luminous pale pink hue, shot through with delicate highlights typical of great Provençal rosés.

    Nose

The nose reveals a nuanced aromatic palette dominated by notes of red fruits, notably cherries, wild strawberries, and alpine raspberries. Delicate floral hints reminiscent of magnolia are accompanied by a light marine minerality and subtle notes of fresh mint, reflecting the surrounding Mediterranean wild herbs.

    Palate

On the palate, the wine is precise and harmonious, offering a broad attack followed by a well-balanced evolution. Its silky, generous texture is supported by a bright, well-defined acidity that is never aggressive. A refined mineral salinity marks the finish, creating a delicate sea-spray sensation that lingers long after swallowing, showcasing impressive length.

    Food and wine pairings

Rosé de Léoube 2025 stands out for its remarkable gastronomic versatility. Excellent as an aperitif, it pairs perfectly with grilled fish, shellfish, and seafood. Its delicate acidity harmonizes beautifully with Mediterranean mixed salads, dishes featuring fresh goat cheese, or recipes with light spices. It also pairs very well with refined Asian cuisine, particularly sushi, as well as with fresh cheeses and certain light red fruit desserts.

    Serving and cellaring

To fully reveal the essence of Rosé de Léoube 2025, serve between 50 and 54°F. This wine can be cellared advantageously until 2027–2028, although it shows at its best when enjoyed young and fresh, when its vibrant fruit character and aromatic liveliness are at their peak.

An elegant, mineral Provence rosé from an exceptional coastal terroir

    The estate

Acquired in 1997 by Lord Anthony Bamford and Lady Carole Bamford, Château Léoube spans 560 hectares in Bormes-les-Mimosas in the Var, between Toulon and Saint-Tropez. The château, built at the end of the 14th century, underwent a major transformation under the Bamfords, pioneers of organic farming. The estate obtained ECOCERT certification in 2008, followed by the European Organic Wine label in 2012 and HVE certification in 2020. Under the direction of Romain Ott, head winemaker since 2000 and a descendant of four generations of Provençal winegrowers, Château Léoube now embodies the excellence of organic Provençal rosé, combining environmental preservation with viticultural quality.

    The vineyard

Rosé de Léoube comes from approximately 65 to 70 hectares of vines located in the heart of Cap Bénat, benefiting from an exceptional geographical position with four kilometers of direct Mediterranean coastline. This unique terroir of the Côtes de Provence appellation enjoys a remarkable microclimate with more than 3,000 hours of annual sunshine, tempered by cool nighttime sea breezes and Mistral winds. The soils feature a diverse composition of micaceous schist, clay, and colluvium, varying with the topography. The estate practices strict organic and biodynamic viticulture, without chemical pesticides or herbicides, following lunar cycles. More than seventy-five percent of the estate remains in its natural state, fostering exceptional biodiversity that benefits grape quality.

    Winemaking and aging

The grapes destined for Rosé de Léoube 2025 are harvested exclusively by hand, ensuring maximum quality control. Winemaking follows a slow, gentle pressing technique that minimizes color extraction from the grape skins, thus preserving aromatic purity and the characteristic pale pink hue. This Provence wine undergoes full malolactic fermentation, a distinctive practice that contributes to its silky and generous texture. The winemaking approach emphasizes precision and respect for the terroir, without artifice or excessive manipulation.

    Grape varieties

    Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Mourvèdre.
