The 1998 Liot offers pretty notions of preserved lemons, kumquat and quince paste, with hints of chalk dust and white pepper. It has plenty of power on the palate, with pronounced botrytis-inspired and musk perfume layers intertwined with honeyed citrus fruits, finishing on an earthy note.

    Description

A Sauternes wine combining structure and balance

    The property
Located in the heart of the Sauternes appellation, on the Haut-Barsac plateau, the Château Liot belongs to the David family, who have been managing it for several generations. This family estate cultivates a know-how that is consistently passed on, respecting tradition and the uniqueness of this exceptional terroir.

    The vineyard
The vineyard of the Château extends over 40 hectares, equally divided between the Sauternes appellation (20 ha) and the red and white Graves (20 ha). The soil is composed of clay and red lands, resting on a limestone base, giving the wines a beautiful structure and a marked personality.

    Blend
The Château Liot 1998 is the result of a subtle blend of sémillon, sauvignon blanc and muscadelle.
