    Yves Beck

Inviting and intense, the bouquet of Château Liot stands out for its many facets. It reveals chalky nuances, often found in Barsac, along with aromas of nectarines, quinces and citrus zest. Rich, silky and even slightly saline on the attack, the wine combines breadth, character and freshness. It impresses with its harmony, even in its broad, vigorous style. The delicate bitters on the finish undoubtedly contribute to the freshness, as well as to the lingering finale. A delightful wine!

The elegance of a Sauternes wine crafted by Château Liot

    The estate

Located on the Haut-Barsac plateau in the Bordeaux region, Château Liot covers around forty hectares. Run by the David family for several generations, the estate officially belongs to Jean-Gérard David. Certified High Environmental Value (HVE) since 2020, this renowned property combines respect for biodiversity with traditional methods to produce wines of great consistency. The estate stands out for its ecological commitment and uninterrupted family heritage.

    The vineyard

The 24 hectares of vines dedicated to the Sauternes appellation thrive on the Haut-Barsac plateau. This terroir benefits from a soil composed of red clay resting on fractured limestone, promoting natural drainage and deep rooting. The average age of the vines is 35 to 40 years. The proximity of the Ciron river creates an ideal microclimate, alternating morning mists with sunny afternoons, essential for the development of noble rot.

    The vintage

The 2025 vintage stands out as a particularly brilliant year. Weather conditions were extremely favorable, allowing exceptional development of the Botrytis cinerea fungus on the berries. The growing cycle concluded with harvests spread out from September 16 to October 8.

    Winemaking and aging

The grapes are hand-picked, with three passes through the vineyard to select perfectly concentrated berries. Alcohol content: 13.5% vol.

    Grape varieties

    Sémillon (80%), Sauvignon (15%), Muscadelle (5%).
