    Description

The structure and creaminess of a Saint-Émilion Red wine

    The estate
Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion, the Château Magrez Fombrauge is one of the finest estates of the Saint-Émilion appellation on the Right Bank of the Bordeaux region.

    The vineyard
An illustrious estate set on an archaeological site dating from the 5th century BC, Château Magrez Fombrauge oversees a rare vineyard with an exceptional terroir. The 1.96 hectares of vines are planted on clay-limestone soils typical of the Saint-Émilion plateau, combined with the molasses soils of the Fronsac region.

    Blend
    Merlot (60 %) and Cabernet Franc (20 %).

Characteristics and tasting advice for Château Magrez Fombrauge 2014

    Tasting

    Nose
The nose charms with its aromatic richness, offering a fairly complete range of fleshy black fruits (crushed blackberry, blueberry, red plum).

    Palate
The palate confirms the nose – through the presence of a crunchy, fleshy black cherry – and displays a beautiful fine-grained tannic structure, all with an impression of juiciness and wine weight. Beautiful balsamic cedar finish. The whole is generous, well-built, and fresh.
