    Description

Chateau Margaux 2005, a 1er Cru Classe from Bordeaux

A 1st Classified Growth by the prestigious 1855 classification system and one of the most famous estates on Bordeaux’s Left Bank, Chateau Margaux has been known to produce prestigious and highly sought-after wines for centuries. The Chateau Margaux vineyard stretches 87 hectares (approx. 215 acres) and continues to impress with superior releases. The Chateau Margaux 2005 is a magnificent blend of 85% Cabernet Franc and 15% Merlot from what is considered a truly great, pure vintage.

In the glass, the Chateau Margaux 2005 impresses with the intensity of its colour. This wine offers incredible finesse on the nose, along with a grace and depth that can be attributed to its terroir. The wine exudes distinctive characters from the Margaux terroir: finesse, grace, and depth. Prominent fragrances include blackcurrants, blackberry jam and bitter cherries, along with hints of soft leather. This wine is also quite powerful, with an exceptional concentration and harmony. The perfect balance achieved by this Chateau Margaux 2005 wine is due in large part to Cabernet Sauvignon, which occupies the majority of the blend. In the 2005 vintage, grapes of this varietal reached optimal maturity without the alcoholic degree surpassing 13. The beautiful acidity and tannic structure gives this Chateau Margaux 2005 wine a remarkable ability to age in the bottle.
