Marks and reviews
Description
The Chateau Montrose vineyard stretches over 95 hectares, around the castle, cellar and farm building. This 2013 Saint-Estephe is a blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot.
The wine reveals a beautiful limpid and bright ruby colour. Although the nose is quite closed, it is fresh and minty. The former is marked by raspberry notes enhanced by more grilled, toasted aromas, with a light hint of caramel. On the palate, the 2013 Chateau Montrose offers a clear and bold attack. The mid-palate is forward and balanced, and develops a good length revealing liquorice notes. The tannins are silky and elegant.
