    Description

Characteristics and tasting tips for Château Saint-Pierre 2013

    Tasting

    Color
The color displays a garnet hue.

    Nose
The bouquet reveals fine complexity, with aromas of black fruit alongside notes of spice and violet. Barrel aging brings nuances of toasted bread, coffee and tobacco, enriching the aromatic profile.

    Palate
The attack unveils red-fruit aromas. The palate is fresh and shows lovely density. The tannins, supple on the mid-palate, become very fine on the finish, where licorice notes emerge. A slight firmness on the finish will fade with time.

    A complex, structured Saint-Julien wine

    The estate

Château Saint-Pierre traces its origins back to 1693, with the “Serançan” property acquired by the Cheverry family. The estate took the name of Baron Saint-Pierre in the 18th century. Classified as a Fourth Growth in 1855, this 17-hectare Bordeaux vineyard in Saint-Julien rests on an exceptional terroir of Günzian gravels. Jean-Louis Triaud and his wife have run the property since 1982, perpetuating centuries-old expertise.

    The vineyard

The Château Saint-Pierre vineyard spans 17 hectares within the Saint-Julien appellation. The vines, with an average age of 50 years, are planted on a terroir of Günzian gravels. This outstanding terroir allows for remarkable concentration of aromas. The estate practices sustainable, responsible farming.

    Winemaking and aging

Château Saint-Pierre 2013 benefits from traditional vinification in stainless-steel vats. Aging is carried out in barrels, with 50% new oak.
