Clos Naudin : Demi-Sec 2018

The 2018 Vouvray Demi-Sec is a cloud of Chenin Blanc that fills the mouth like a floaty ghost of unadulterated fruit. It is almost weightless, yet mesmerizing in its allure, as if it were a hypnotist. Fine and transparent, with flavors reminiscent of fresh pear and ripe apple. To reduce this wine to fruit characters detracts from a wine that isn’t best served by an analysis of its components; it is a harmonious whole. I only wish I could taste demi-secs like this every day.
