    Description

Characteristics and tasting notes for the Côtes du Rhône Rouge 2025 Domaine de la Mordorée

    Tasting

    Colour
Revealing beautiful concentration, this wine displays a deep, vivid red colour.

    Nose
Particularly expressive and fruit-forward, the bouquet reveals intense aromas of red and black fruits such as cherry, raspberry and blackcurrant. On aeration, delicate notes of violet intertwine with subtle spicy and herbaceous touches.

    Palate
The attack seduces with its roundness and brilliance. The palate offers a harmonious structure, without heaviness, carried by tannins of great finesse that are perfectly integrated. The long, flavourful finish extends the pleasure with fruity and delicately spicy nuances.

    Food and wine pairing

Highly versatile, this wine enhances grilled meats, fine charcuterie and roasted poultry alike. It also pairs wonderfully with Mediterranean dishes, spicy or Asian-inspired cuisine, as well as matured cow's or sheep's milk cheeses.

    Service and storage

For optimal enjoyment, this Côtes du Rhône Rouge 2025 is best served between 16 and 18°C, ideally in a Burgundy-style glass, after a light aeration. Approachable even in its youth, this wine can be enjoyed now and will continue to evolve, drinking well until around 2032.

The authenticity and freshness of a great Rhône Valley wine

    The estate

Founded in 1986 by Francis Delorme, Domaine de la Mordorée stands as an essential reference in the Rhône Valley. Located in Tavel, this family-owned estate spans around fifty hectares. Today, Madeleine and Ambre Delorme lead the estate, passionately carrying forward the vision of Christophe Delorme. Deeply committed to environmental stewardship, the estate is certified organic and biodynamic. Its emblem, the woodcock, symbolises this harmony with nature and constant pursuit of excellence.

    The vineyard

This wine from the Côtes du Rhône appellation comes from plots resting on a great diversity of terroirs. The vines thrive on soils composed of sand, siliceous clay and calcareous gravel. Subject to a Mediterranean climate and swept by the mistral wind, the vineyard benefits from environmentally friendly farming practices that promote biodiversity and soil vitality. Harvesting is done exclusively by hand to preserve the integrity of the grapes.

    The vintage

The year 2025 was marked by weather conditions specific to the southern part of the region, allowing the vines to develop in an environment conducive to producing grapes of exceptional quality.

    Winemaking and aging

After careful destemming and crushing, fermentation of the Côtes du Rhône Rouge 2025 begins with indigenous yeasts, under rigorous temperature control. The maceration period is adapted according to the evolution of the juices. Finally, aging takes place exclusively in stainless steel tanks to preserve all the purity and freshness of the fruit.

    Grape varieties

    Grenache (40%), Syrah (30%), Cinsault (15%), Carignan (10%) and Mourvèdre (5%).
