    Description

Characteristics and Tasting Notes for the Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Aux Beaux Bruns" 2023 from Domaine Faiveley

    Tasting

    Colour
This French red wine reveals a brilliant ruby hue with luminous highlights.

    Nose
The bouquet is delicate, carried by aromas of red fruits such as ripe cherry and cranberry. Subtle touches of violet intertwine with mineral and earthy nuances, lending a beautiful depth.

    Palate
The attack offers fruity, lightly toasted flavours, dominated by very ripe cherry and wild berries. The texture is silky and round, supported by present yet perfectly integrated tannins. The whole shines with elegance and finesse, unfolding into a remarkably long finish.

    Food and Wine Pairing

This wine pairs wonderfully with flavourful dishes such as feathered game in sauce, roast lamb or farm-raised capon. It also enhances roast veal, rabbit with mushrooms, or a platter of soft cheeses such as Brillat-Savarin, Reblochon, Cîteaux or Brie de Meaux.

    Service and Storage

To fully appreciate this Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Aux Beaux Bruns" 2023, it is recommended to serve it between 12 and 14°C in its youth, and between 14 and 16°C after a few years of cellaring. With a fine structure, it can be enjoyed now but will continue to develop until around 2038.

    Other Characteristics

This vintage has an alcohol content of approximately 13%, offering a fine balance representative of its terroir.

The Elegance and Power of a Great Burgundy Wine by Domaine Faiveley

    The Estate

Founded in 1825 by Pierre Faiveley in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Domaine Faiveley stands as a true institution in Burgundy. Originally a négociant house, the estate has built up an exceptional vineyard of more than 120 hectares over the decades, spread across the region's most prestigious terroirs. Today, the seventh generation, embodied by Eve and Erwan Faiveley, leads the estate with a vision firmly focused on the future. True to its values of excellence and environmental respect, the family carries on its historic expertise while guiding all of its vines toward organic certification.

    The Vineyard

The Climat "Aux Beaux Bruns" is located within the prestigious Chambolle-Musigny appellation, on the Côte de Nuits. South-east facing, the vines grow on flat or gently sloping ground. The soils are made up of chalky marl rich in limestone, with a higher proportion of clay than elsewhere in the village. This geological feature helps retain moisture and gives the grapes a unique structure and substance, while preserving the delicacy typical of this terroir.

    The Vintage

2023 was characterised by generally cool weather conditions, punctuated by just three days of intense heat in September. This mild growing cycle allowed the berries to reach optimal ripeness, resulting in a fresh and particularly harmonious profile.

    Winemaking and Aging

The Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Aux Beaux Bruns" 2023 is crafted through a blend of traditional methods and state-of-the-art equipment. Vinification is carried out with precision using modern presses and custom-made wooden vats. The wine then undergoes patient aging in the estate's historic nineteenth-century cellars, ensuring ideal temperature and humidity conditions for a slow, elegant development.
