    Description

Characteristics and Tasting Notes of the Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru 2024 from Domaine Faiveley

    Tasting Notes

    Appearance
The colour reveals a deep, intense ruby hue.

    Nose
Complex on the nose, this wine releases rich aromas of red and black fruits, intertwined with notes of spice and toasted nuances, before evolving towards subtle floral tones.

    Palate
The palate stands out for its ripe, silky tannins. This red wine combines a powerful yet elegant structure with a saline minerality, leading to a lingering finish.

    Serving and Cellaring

This Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru reveals its full potential when served at a temperature between 12 and 14°C in its youth, after prior aeration. With remarkable ageing potential, it can be kept and enjoyed until around 2049.

The Singular Expression of a Gevrey-Chambertin Grand Cru by Domaine Faiveley

    The Estate

Founded in 1825 in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Domaine Faiveley has established itself as an unmissable reference in Burgundy, France. Originally a négociant house, the estate has patiently built up an exceptional heritage spanning more than 120 hectares. Now led by Erwan Faiveley, representing the seventh generation, the domaine stands out for its strong environmental commitment, with an extensive conversion to organic farming. The family watches over prestigious terroirs, producing wines renowned for their precision and their faithfulness to their climats of origin.

    The Vineyard

The Latricières-Chambertin climat is the southernmost grand cru of the commune. The plot farmed by the estate covers 1.20 hectares and enjoys a distinctive east-west exposure. The vines, planted in 1984, 1989 and 2007, are cultivated according to the principles of organic farming. They thrive on shallow, well-draining soils composed of marl and stony limestone, topped with a thin layer of silica. This unique terroir gives the grapes a remarkable mineral tension.

    The Vintage

2024 proved to be a particularly challenging year in terms of weather. The growing cycle began with a cold, rainy spring, which severely disrupted flowering and led to coulure and millerandage. This relentless rainfall also encouraged strong mildew pressure, considerably reducing yields. Fortunately, a warm, sunny spell set in from late July through August, allowing the scarce bunches to ripen optimally before harvest began in mid-September.

    Winemaking and Ageing

Following meticulous hand-harvesting, the grapes are carefully sorted. Fermentation takes place in the traditional way, driven by native yeasts. This Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru 2024 is then aged in oak barrels, a proportion of which are new, to refine its structure. The wine is finally bottled without prior filtration to preserve its full authenticity.

    Grape Variety

    100% Pinot Noir.
