A complex and balanced red wine from the Rhône Valley

The property

Located in the heart of the village of Gervans, in the Drôme, in the Rhône Valley, the family estate has its origins in 1870. In 2002, the 6th generation embodied by Laurent Fayolle and Céline Nodin, two siblings, took over the family torch. The Fayolle Estate then became Fayolle Fils & Fille and a major restructuring of the property began. Subsequently, the name of Domaine Laurent Fayolle was definitively adopted in 2020.

The vineyard

Domaine Laurent Fayolle oversees a vineyard of 6.5 hectares spread over the appellations of Crozes-Hermitage, Hermitage and Saint-Péray. Favoring low yields, Domaine Laurent Fayolle enhances the nuances of the great terroirs of the Rhône Valley through cuvées that are seductive in their finesse and aromatic intensity.

The wine

An exceptional cuvée, the "Clos Les Cornirets" 2017 from Domaine Laurent Fayolle comes from a plot of 0.83 hectares. Facing south on a hillside in the village of Crozes-Hermitage, the vines, over 80 years old, are planted on a granitic hillside.

Vinification and aging

Following manual harvesting, the grapes are sorted and destemmed. Vinification takes place in concrete vats using indigenous yeasts. The aging in barrels lasts for 12 months.
