    Description

Characteristics and tasting advice for La Vigne de Beaussopet 2023 from Domaine Laporte

    Tasting

    Appearance

The wine displays a radiant golden hue, enhanced by delicate green highlights typical of its terroir.

    Nose

The aromatic bouquet is complex, combining toasted and smoky aromas with elegant notes of vanilla pod, dried grape, white flowers, and stone fruits.

    Palate

The attack stands out for its marked freshness and fine mineral tension. The mid-palate, ample and enveloping, reveals delicious notes of exotic fruits and citrus, leading into a saline finish of great persistence.

    Food and wine pairings

This white wine pairs beautifully with premium seafood such as grilled lobster or spiny lobster, as well as fleshy fish like roasted turbot. It will also perfectly complement white meats or a platter of oysters.

    Serving and cellaring

To fully appreciate La Vigne de Beaussopet 2023, it is recommended to serve it between 11 and 13 °C. With strong aging potential, this wine can be enjoyed until around 2031.

The mineral expression of a great Pouilly-Fumé by Domaine Laporte

    The estate

Founded in 1850 by René Laporte in Saint-Satur, the Domaine Laporte is a historic figure of the Loire Valley. Acquired in 1986 by Henri Bourgeois, it is now managed by his grandsons, Arnaud and Cédric Bourgeois. They continue the excellence of this prestigious estate by cultivating a vineyard certified organic since 2013. Spanning more than twenty hectares across several appellations, the property stands out for its environmentally respectful approach and its commitment to enhancing the natural expression of each terroir.

    The vineyard

From the Pouilly-Fumé appellation, this cuvée comes from a confidential 1.25-hectare parcel located on the slopes of Saint-Laurent-l'Abbaye and Saint-Père. These old vines, cultivated according to organic farming principles, thrive on a singular terroir composed of Kimmeridgian marls. This soil, rich in clay and marine fossils dating from the Jurassic period, gives the grapes a unique mineral identity typical of this area.

    Winemaking and aging

The creation of La Vigne de Beaussopet 2023 begins with careful manual harvesting. The berries then undergo gentle pneumatic pressing at low pressure to preserve their delicacy, followed by cold static settling. Aging takes place on lees for 9 months, divided between stainless steel tanks (50%), oak barrels (40%), and amphorae (10%). Regular bâtonnage is carried out over 4 months, giving the wine its generous texture and complexity.

    Grape variety

This cuvée is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc.
