The estate
Founded in the late 1920s by Pierre Ramonet, Domaine Ramonet is a true institution in Burgundy. Located in Chassagne-Montrachet, France, this historic estate now extends over 17 hectares. A pioneer in exporting to the United States, the estate has built its worldwide reputation on its prestigious terroirs. Currently led by Jean-Claude Ramonet, supported by his daughters, the family-run estate upholds a demanding philosophy centred on integrated pest management, low yields and absolute respect for the soils, thereby revealing the very essence of each climat.
The vineyard
Located in the eastern part of the Chassagne-Montrachet finage, the climat of La Boudriotte lies on complex clay-limestone soils. The earth displays characteristic reddish hues, linked to a high concentration of iron oxides and manganese. The vines, over fifty years old and covering around one hectare, benefit from an ideal exposure and cool nights. Cultivated using integrated pest management with meticulous soil work, this terroir imparts a remarkable mineral tension and density to the wine.
The vintage
The 2022 vintage stands out for its sun-drenched climatic conditions, which fostered excellent ripeness of the berries. Perfectly mastered by the estate, this generous vintage allowed for an ideal balance to be preserved, offering an abundance of fruit while retaining a lovely natural freshness.
Winemaking and ageing
The grapes are harvested by hand in order to preserve the integrity of the bunches. The vinification of the Chassagne-Montrachet 1er cru "Clos De La Boudriotte" 2022 is carried out gently, with measured extraction to respect the delicacy of the grape variety. The wine then benefits from precise and moderate ageing in oak barrels, usually lasting twelve to eighteen months, designed to accompany the texture without ever masking the identity of the terroir.
