The elegance and precision of a great white Burgundy
The estate
Founded in 1859 by the cooper Jean-Edouard Dupard, the Jean Chartron estate is a historic name in Puligny-Montrachet, in the heart of Burgundy. Now run by the fifth generation, represented by Jean-Michel Chartron and his sister Anne-Laure, this family property farms around 14.5 hectares of vines. Renowned for their remarkable expertise and environmentally respectful approach, the Chartron family showcases high-quality terroirs. The estate stands out for its mastery of oak ageing, carrying on a unique heritage while adapting to contemporary demands to produce white wines of great precision.
The vineyard
The grapes for this cuvée come from plots located in the commune of Puligny-Montrachet, in Burgundy. The vines thrive on clay-limestone soils renowned for their excellent drainage. The estate favours an environmentally respectful approach to viticulture, using farming methods inspired by the principles of organic agriculture in order to preserve the vitality of the soils and the authentic expression of the terroir.
Winemaking and ageing
The Bourgogne Chardonnay "Cuvée Eugénie Dupard" 2025 is fermented entirely in oak barrels that have previously held one to five wines, thereby limiting the influence of new oak. The wine is then aged on fine lees in barrels for around eight months to build complexity, before resting for a further three months in tank to refine its balance prior to bottling.
