The pure, mineral expression of a white Burgundy by Domaine Jean Chartron
The estate
Based in Puligny-Montrachet since 1859, Domaine Jean Chartron is a historic name in Burgundy. Founded by Jean-Edouard Dupard, the man behind the addition of the name "Montrachet" to the village, the estate is now run by Jean-Michel Chartron. He upholds the family's tradition of excellence across a vineyard of some 14.5 hectares, featuring prestigious Premier and Grand Cru monopoles. Renowned for its great white wines, the estate stands out for its environmentally respectful approach and its constant pursuit of purity, producing cuvées of remarkable precision.
The vineyard
Located in the Côte Chalonnaise, the plot dedicated to this cuvée covers 3.37 hectares within the Montmorin climat, in the Rully appellation. The vines thrive on clay-limestone soils. The estate follows organic farming principles, without certification, and the grapes are harvested by hand to preserve the quality of the berries.
Vinification and maturation
This 2025 vintage is fermented entirely in oak casks. The wine is then aged on fine lees in barrels, followed by a resting period in tanks before bottling, enhancing its aromatic complexity.
Grape variety
Chardonnay (100%).
