    Description

Characteristics and Tasting Tips for the Cuvée Pierre Etienne 2022 from Joseph Mellot

    Tasting

    Appearance

The colour is a golden yellow, with luminous, brilliant highlights.

    Nose

The nose is intense and sun-drenched, revealing aromas of mirabelle plum and apricot, accompanied by subtle woody, almost spicy notes.

    Palate

The palate is full and fleshy, carried by sun-kissed notes. Toasty tones blend harmoniously with attractive fruit, while a delicate mineral framework brings balance to the whole. The saline, elegant finish pleasantly prolongs the tasting.

    Food and Wine Pairing

This white Sancerre is an ideal match for scallops, sweetbreads and refined white meats such as rack of lamb. It also pairs very well with a platter of mature cheeses.

    Serving and Cellaring

The Cuvée Pierre Etienne 2022 is best enjoyed within 3 to 5 years of bottling.

A Sancerre of Both Richness and Minerality from Maison Joseph Mellot

    The Estate

The house of Joseph Mellot, whose winemaking activity took its current form in 1969, is based in Sancerre, in the Central Loire vineyards. It is now run by Catherine Corbeau-Mellot, supported by her sons Armand and Adrien. As the only house to vinify all eight appellations of the Central Loire across around one hundred hectares, Joseph Mellot has distinguished itself through an early commitment to environmental certifications (ISO 14001, HVE, BRC, sustainable and organic farming), confirming its role as an ambassador for Loire Valley wines.

    The Vineyard

Coming from the Sancerre appellation, this cuvée is sourced from a vineyard managed using sustainable and integrated viticulture, in keeping with the estate's overall environmental approach. Sancerre benefits from terroirs renowned for their diversity, which are ideally suited to the expression of Sauvignon Blanc.

    Grape Varieties

This wine is made from Sauvignon Blanc.
